Question from marissa:
Hi Girls, DD is almost 6 months old now and she has slept 11-12 hours at night since she was 6 weeks old. I am full-time expressing for her. hoping someone here can help me out or at least reassure me. Until a week ago I was expressing 5 times per day (for 6 feeds) but a week ago cut that down to expressing 3 times per day for 5 feeds. I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant as we have only DTD once since giving birth (~2-3 weeks ago) and I'm on the mini-pill which I had been taking properly although I did take it late the day after we DTD. My problem is AF hasn't returned yet and although one part of me is happy with that, another part is wondering whether this is normal. I had a regular (long) cycle up until I fell pregnant. Has anyone else on here been similar to this? Looking forward to your answers!

marissa some people dont get AF back until after they stop bf/expressing completely! Unfortunately Im not one of those lucky ones  Its totally normal for you not to have it back yet.

I guess I am one of those lucky ones... I got my AF back when DS1 was 10 months (fell pregnant a few weeks after that hehe), and he was completely weaned from the breast at 8 months (started reducing BFs to FF at 5 months due to supply issues)... With DS2 I still haven't gotten it back either...

Hey Marissa :) Hmmm, I think everyone is different and anything goes in regards to the return of AF after birth. Piper is almost 7 months old and I haven't got AF back yet and have had no signs of AF's impending arrival or anything ! I must say I am really enjoying it  :D Piper is being exclusively breastfed and has started solids- she still feeds numerous times overnight but because we co-sleep I don't feel tired thankfully !! So I would just enjoy being AF free for now ! I have heard of women going over 1.5 years without AF returning so I guess anything goes !!
